ThermoFlex™ by Delta Robotics brings you the Node Controller, a powerful control system capable of powering both ThermoFlex actuators, Nitinol actuators (for your own nitinol devices), and other smart materials.
The ThermoFlex Node is built for precise Nitinol control, featuring resistance monitoring for temperature control and power delivery up to 60 A continuous to your device with a maximum voltage of 40 V (read our documentation here).
This Arduino-based smart controller is perfect for robotic and research applications. Use the ThermoFlex Python API to create custom control flows for your devices, directly from your computer. If you have a network of actuators, one USB connection allows you to control an entire CAN network of ThermoFlex devices.
Not only is the Node Controller capable of Nitinol control, but it was the platform that we used to shape set our nitinol actuators electrically (resistive heating) before we acquired our own furnace for the task. The platform is capable of heating Nitinol to 500-600°C, which is the desired range for shape set heating. Read our documentation on training Nitinol to learn more.
Cables are not included by default. Our recommended extra cables are offered here on the store. Add them individually or select "include cables" below to add all of them:
- XT60M -> XT60F Cable
- For transferring power to a ThermoFlex Muscle
- XT60M -> Alligator Leads
- For transferring power to a custom device, nitinol actuator, or other load
- TF Node CAN Cable
- A 4-pin JST cable for connecting 2 or more Node devices to each other for robot networking. Useful if you want to build a multi-muscle system.
- USB C Data Cable
- For connecting the device to your PC. If you already have one of these, don't feel the need to get one from us!

Return Policy
While we hope you love everything you order, we understand that sometimes things just don’t work out. If you need to return an item, here’s how it works:

Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery.

Items must be unused, in their original packaging, and in the same condition you received them.

Refunds:
Once we receive and inspect the item, refunds will be processed within 5–7 business days. Original shipping costs are non-refundable, and return shipping is the buyer’s responsibility unless the item was defective or incorrect.
